EMILY SHOEMARK
Director
Emily Shoemark leads the firm’s Employment and Business teams. She provides our business clients with advice on commercial transactions, intellectual property and employment law matters.
She joined Snedden Hall & Gallop in September 2008 and was appointed a Director of the firm in July 2021.
Emily enjoys assisting organisations to manage the legal issues that occur at every stage of their lifecycle. She focuses on assisting businesses to protect themselves against legal risks. Her work includes assisting clients with:
- Business sale and purchase transactions, including asset sales, share sales, acquisitions and investment transactions
- Legal issues arising in business in both commercial and employment areas
- Governance and structure advice
- Intellectual property, including IP protection and licensing
- employment contracts and disputes and workplace investigations
- commercial dispute resolution, with an aim of preventing disputes or resolving them early to minimise the impact on the business.

Emily has been an approved Secure Local Jobs auditor with the ACT Government since inception of the Secure Local Jobs Code. Emily is also an acting member of the ACT Work Health and Safety Council, which advises the ACT Minister for Employment and Workplace Safety on relevant issues.
Emily regularly writes and presents to clients about a range of commercial and employment issues. She is active as the founding partner of the Women in Construction program at Master Builders ACT.
Emily holds a Bachelor of Business Administration and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Canberra.
