Snedden Hall & Gallop enjoys a reputation for commitment to the ACT community that spans 60 years.

We provide legal assistance to a number of local not-for-profit organisations in matters of corporate governance, contract law, leasing and employment law. Where possible, we offer these services on a pro bono basis. We’re always happy to hear about the activities being undertaken by community groups and invite you to contact us if your organisation might be interested in working with our firm in the future.

Snedden Hall & Gallop is a proud member of the Master Builders ACT and a member of its Professional Sector Committee.

The MBA Women in Construction group was founded in 2018 with the aim of creating avenues for our female members to connect with other women working in similar roles or facing similar challenges within their building and construction business. As a founding partner, Snedden Hall & Gallop, assist the program to provide a calendar of events (including social events prior to COVID-19), as well as information and advice to support our members. The group recognises these women for their achievements, and aims to help them achieve personal and business success through a range of learning sessions and networking events.

So far, the group has hosted a lunch with Kate Carnell, Australian Small Business and Family Enterprise Ombudsman, attended a number of sessions conducted by Emily Shoemark, and held a workshop in digital marketing. The group is proud to support International Women’s Day – in 2019 they attended a WAFL game, and in 2020, a lunch with V8 Supercar driver Emily Duggan was planned (now postponed to 2021).

We value the opportunity to contribute to the MBA community by providing articles on relevant legal issues to the MBA’s magazine, Canberra Builder, and presenting on relevant topics at seminars.

The Association of Independent Schools of the ACT (AISACT) is the peak body of independent schools in the ACT. We are pleased to support their role by assisting the Association and its members with advice regarding governance, employment and industrial matters and specific legal issues relevant to the education sector.

We have a long and supportive relationship with the St Vincent de Paul Society and our managing director, Richard Faulks, is a regular participant in the annual Vinnies CEO Sleepout.

We are proud friends and supporters of Pedal Power, the ACT’s leading advocate and event organiser for cyclists.

Details of the unique benefits that we provide for Pedal Power ACT members can be found here.

Because of the deep interest that so many Canberrans have with cycling, we have provided bike riders with a number of articles on cycling and bike riding injury. Find out more here.

‘Be the best you can be’ is a sports day like no other. Hosted by Snedden Hall & Gallop Lawyers, this unique event brings together the local community to provide school students in the ACT who have a physical or intellectual disability, with the opportunity to compete in a variety of modified sport activities in a fun and supportive environment.

This event allows us to showcase the outstanding programs being run by local Canberra community organisations and the day would not be possible without the continued support of our enthusiastic and generous sponsors.

The event consists of a rotation of modified activities such as athletics, basketball, soccer and modified rugby. Once the activities have come to an end, the participants get the chance to meet local celebrities, mascots and sporting heroes and take party in the dance party hosted by The Woden Schools Party Down Productions.

Here are what some of our previous attendees have said about the event:

‘Thank you for all your organisation with the sports day. The smooth running of the day and effort you and your organisation to go in making the students with a disability feel like champions is greatly appreciated and a reflection on the community mindedness of the organisation.’

Today our youngest son, who is autistic, attended his very first Be the best you can be, which is sponsored by your firm. Our son came home with his very first gold medal! As a parent of a special needs child you have no idea how much this means to me, with proud tears running down my face. From the bottom of my heart I say thank you for letting our son just be normal and free.’

‘It was a great day that we were thrilled to be a part of – it was awesome seeing so many smiling faces and I speak on behalf of the three of us when I say that we found it really special that we were able to use Rugby as a means to contribute to our community.’
