Chelsea Kennett

Lawyer

Chelsea Kennett is a lawyer in Snedden Hall & Gallop’s Commercial team, advising across commercial and corporate law, intellectual property, regulatory and administrative law, government/public law, and construction and infrastructure matters. She advises clients on a broad range of commercial contracting and strategic advisory matters, with particular strength in legal research, statutory and regulatory interpretation, and navigating matters involving technical, regulatory or policy complexity. Her practice includes advising on commercial risk, governance, and matters requiring careful judgment where legal, regulatory and broader public interest considerations intersect.

Chelsea also practises in trade mark law and brand protection, advising on trade mark clearance, filing strategy, registrability, portfolio protection and broader brand protection matters. She is one of the firm’s key practitioners in this area and plays an active role in the continued development of the firm’s trade mark practice, supporting clients to protect and strengthen their intellectual property as valuable commercial assets.

Chelsea is known for bringing a calm, thoughtful and analytical approach to complex issues, and for providing practical, commercially focused advice when it is most needed. She values being a friendly and approachable point of contact for clients and aims to combine technical rigour with advice that is clear, strategic and solutions focused. Clients value her ability to bring clarity to complexity, communicate nuanced issues in an accessible way, and provide commercially astute advice in matters requiring careful judgment.

Chelsea was a recipient of the Snedden Hall & Gallop Scholarship in 2019, which supported and inspired her pursuit of a legal career. She holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of Canberra and was admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales in March 2025. Since commencing practice, she has developed experience across a diverse range of commercial, regulatory and advisory matters, with particular interest in complex legal issues involving statutory interpretation, public administration, regulatory compliance and strategic advisory work.

Chelsea is currently based in the United Kingdom (UK) and works for Snedden Hall & Gallop in a remote capacity, supporting clients and matters across Australia. She expects to remain in the UK until early to mid-2027, after which she intends to return to Australia.

Beyond practice, Chelsea is passionate about the role law can play in supporting communities, good governance and broader public interest outcomes. That interest has led her to pursue international internships with non-government organisations abroad and continues to inform her interest in public law, regulatory frameworks and purpose-driven work. She is also a member of the Kiama Business Network and values staying connected with regional business and community networks in Australia.

In her spare time, Chelsea enjoys exploring new places, whether close to home in the UK or further afield across neighbouring countries. She is drawn to authentic travel experiences, from hiking nature reserves and discovering local history to seeking out national delicacies and experiencing places through their food, culture and landscapes.
