The Cerebral Palsy Alliance is a not-for-profit organization which provides services to adults and children with cerebral palsy.
In September they are raising funds by challenging people to participate in Steptember.
Steptember challenges participants to take 10,000 steps per day for the month of September and to fundraise for the Alliance.
Snedden Hall & Gallop lawyer Dominic Cookman is very pleased that the firm has entered two teams in the Steptember challenge. “It’s a great initiative and I’m thrilled that so many employees from SHG have come on board.”
Dominic, a lawyer in the firm’s superannuation litigation team, has a personal connection to the cause. “I was born with mild cerebral palsy. I can work and get through the day without too much trouble, but for people with more severe cases, its much more of a challenge for them and their families. The Cerebral Palsy Alliance does great work helping provide support and relief for severe CP sufferers.”
Asked whether he has been making his 10,000 daily step quota, Dominic says: “Yes, so far I have made the 10K every day. I may need a lie down soon”.
