Snedden Hall & Gallop has awarded its prestigious University Scholarship for law to two Year 12 students annually since 1999.
The scholarships reward exceptional students who intend to study law at the Australian National University or the University of Canberra.
Each winner receives:
- $6,000 over the first 3 years of their study; and
- The opportunity to participate in work experience at Snedden Hall & Gallop.
Many scholarship winners have been employed as paid paralegals, working casually during their university studies. Some past winners have continued with the firm as lawyers after graduating.
Every college in the ACT was asked to nominate one Year 12 student for the scholarships. Nominees do not need to study legal studies (many winners did not) but should have outstanding academic results and a desire to study law at university in the ACT.
Winners are selected following a 7-minute presentation and a 10-minute interview in mid-October 2017. We look forward to seeing the usual high standard from the schools across Canberra.
Thank you to University of Canberra
The scholarship competition is supported by the University of Canberra. The School of Law generously provides a senior lecturer or professor as one of the judges as well as the Moot Court for the presentation.
